I started experiencing problems with my desktop (Vista OS) shortly after
installing the latest set of updates 2 weeks ago. My system now crashes at least once every two days, my cordless mouse operations are now erratic, and clicking on a highlighted task often goes un-noticed. I've tried system restore, using several restore points, but after going through the 15 minute wait, I get the following message on the screen; "...System retore did not complete successfully. Your computer's system files and settings were not changed. Details: An unspecified error occurred during System Restore. .." . I've tried restoring with and without my anti-virus active, but to no avail. Can anyone help? I never experienced these problems with my old PC running XP. This new OS is a real pain. |

the restore point is corrupt...
you can try restoring back to another time.. but have in mind this: restore points work like a chain.. in other words if one is bad, more are likly to be bad... But you may get lucky and a previous one might work. they did this to conserve space.. and because system restore is not a true backup -- 50 Ways to leave your Vista....
