Default Safely removing devices and monitor blanking issue

When I connect a USB device to my computer that has VISTA BUSINESS 32-bit
installed on it, the monitor screen will go black for approx. 5sec's and then
return. When I go to disconnect the drive via the SAFELY REMOVE HARDWARE, the
same thing happens again.
Can anyone tell me what I can do to resolve this issue.

This is a new install on a fresh harddrive with all recent updates from
microsoft's website. Have also tried the USB rollup driver with no luck.

Any help will be greatly appriciated...

No, there is not much you can do about losing display when Explorer
restarts. It's a bit like logging off and on.

Thanks for your response, but I want to add that I had VISTA installed
previously on a MSI board with an AMD chip and did not have this issue. It
seems that I have only started having this issue since upgrading to an ASUS
board with and Intel chip..Not sure if there is any corrolation....

Make sure you have installed all the drivers directly from the hardware
provider sites. Sometimes the MS supplied drivers don't completely work. I
have that issue with a couple of the devices in my laptop. For example to
get full soundcard functionality I need the actual SigmaTel driver.

Hi Michael,
Thanks for your response. I was just wondering are you saying that I have to
add a driver for any device that I plug into my pc? USB DRIVES and all??? It
just seems funny cause I have not had to ever do that before. I had VISTA
BUSINESS installed before and the only thing that I have changed is the
hardware.
I will give it a try and I will keep you posted...

Thank you...
