Hello,
I'm using VNC to access XP Embedded clients remotely from a server. The server is a Windows XP or Windows Server system and uses VNC Viewer for Win32 from RealVNC in the version 4.0.0.12. The clients have a XP Embedded FP2007 system and use the VNC Server for Win32 from RealVNC with the same version 4.0.0.12. Already is fine until one uses the "Send Ctrl-Alt-Del" option from the title bar menu of the VNC viewer window to start the Task Manager on the client controlled by VNC. After that it is no longer possible to use the command shell, neither remotely by VNC nor locally on the client. What can be the reason? This problem does not occur with clients running a XP Embedded SP1 system so it seems to be a problem of using XP Embedded SP2 or FP2007. Hope can somebody can help me. Any hint will be much appreciated. Alexander |

Hello Alexander,
Can't tell you what it is, but it's not SP2 and not FP2007. It works for us in this combination. (Right now tested, Normal VNC 4.1.1). Regards, Greg. Hello Greg, many thanks for your response. You're right, my problem does not concern the XP Embedded version but only the VNC version. The problem does not occur when using the newest version of RealVNC (4.1.2), at least at the server side. Regards, Alexander |
