Is there any way to add other programs to autoplay in vista? 'Cos I don't
like to use the defaults. |

Yes, and I told you how to change the defaults.

I meant for example that if I put a dvd in to the drive, it opens in
vlc(videolan). As you can only chose from the default opetions: play with media player , open folder to view files using windows explorer, take no action etc. I'd like to set up 3rd party programs for autoplay. So what I originally asked was that can you add other than windows programs to autoplay. Thanks for trying to help though =). My first post was a bit not informative enough. =) |

It's the responsibility of the application vendor to add themselves to AutoPlay. It's actually really easy to do this. Does VLC not do this? You should politely request they add this support. Please do that on their forums. If they mention having problems with implementation (they shouldn't), lemme know (respond back to this post) and I'll check out their questions there. =) Cheers, -Zach -- Speaking for myself only. Yeah I could do that, but its too much work to do that for every 3rd party
program I want to use with autoplay. Would be so much easier if autoplay just had an option "add other programs to autoplay" or something like that. Thanks for the help though. Are you expecting to need for a large number of 3rd party applications to add themselves to AutoPlay on your system? What vendors/applications are failing to do this? -- Speaking for myself only.
