Default Search Indexer Error message

Hello,

Recently I began to experience a popup message that says,

"Microsoft Windows Search Indexer stopped working and was closed.

A problem caused the application to stop working correctly. Windows will
notify you if a solution is available."

I have not installed any new software, nor have I changed any settings.

I am running a six month old HP laptop with Vista ver. 6.0

I have not experienced any other difficulties recently besides this one and
it doesn't appear to have created any other problems. All software functions
just fine, I just get this annoying popup message from time to time.

Any ideas on what caused this or what to do?

Default RE: Search Indexer Error message

Hi, I don't have an answer, but I am having the same problem... then I get
another message that says DEP has turned it off. I have been running Vista
since Jan. and only now the past week or so have had this problem. I have
restored it to a previous version, with no difference.
