It is a Warranty claim.

Have you checked the Problem Reports and Solutions (Start > All Programs >
Maintenance) to see if there are any logged solutions that could help diagnose the problem? Usually its applications or devices installed that tend to trigger explorer crashes, Codecs are known to cause these instabilities too. Do you have NERO or DIVx installed? Take a look at the following article: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/wind...error-in-vista/ Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories and right-click on the Command Prompt and choose "Run as administrator". Type in: SFC /SCANNOW and press your Enter key. This should repair/replace any damaged system files. If that does not work, try repairing your system. Boot from your Windows Vista DVD, select the System Repair Option > on the setup screen, select 'Repair Computer > Select your installation of Windows > select Startup Repair option and follow instructions. Also make sure the latest device drivers have been installed and applications updated. -- Andre Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com My Vista Quickstart Guide: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!E8E5CC039D51E3DB!9709.entry "pcw" <pcw@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:65FD23FB-307A-4EFF-8C67-2E5062D68DD7@microsoft.com... >I keep getting the following; WINDOWS EXPLORER HAS STOPPED WORKING > > How can I cure this annoying issue in my 2 month old computer? > > Thank you, > Peter |

Hehe, might have been more sensible to ask the OP if this is a problem that has "Always" existed or whether he / she can try and pinpoint when it started and if that coincides with some software installation / updates etc. Explorer does do this to me too on occasions but I would not say "Keeps doing". So, has it done this from new or can you connect the start of the problem with some event(s) ? |

I have a similar problem that started 3 days ago. I cannot access Windows
update, the msconfig, cannot change windows functions, cannot access security file, cannot get WMP to share even though sharing enabled on my network settings. All of these things have just died. I have carried out a multitude of spyware/anitvirus/defender scans and nothing, and also gone back to restore to earlier point of 8th jan but no change. Not sure if I have to reinstall. The OS was preinstalled. Please help! Many Thanks "Andre Da Costa[ActiveWin]" wrote: > Have you checked the Problem Reports and Solutions (Start > All Programs > > Maintenance) to see if there are any logged solutions that could help > diagnose the problem?
