I succeeded at creating a new 2GB volume (formated as drive F) using
the steps listed in the article provided in this article--http://lifehacker.com/photogallery/vistarepartition/. But when I try to create a 10GB volume, it tells me that I don't have enough drive space--even though there's more than 100gb free. Before doing anything, the C drive shows capacity 136 gb, 100gb free. I successfully used the shrink uption to get 10gb of unallocated space. Then I attempted to create the volume and assign a drive letter to it. But it tells me that there's not enough free space. |

The images at the following link were taken before and after the "Shrink"
step and I've also included the error message. http://www.donireland.com/partition.html "Don I" <newsgr0ups@donireland.com> wrote in message news:uaOVmXjUIHA.3940@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... > I succeeded at creating a new 2GB volume (formated as drive F) using > the steps listed in the article provided in this > article--http://lifehacker.com/photogallery/vistarepartition/. > > But when I try to create a 10GB volume, it tells me that I don't have > enough drive space--even though there's more than 100gb free. > > Before doing anything, the C drive shows capacity 136 gb, 100gb free. You can have only up to four primary partitions on a disk drive.
