I have a problem with Internet Explorer and Adobe reader. If I try to
open a pdf file or link to a pdf document from a web page IE hangs and displays a blank screen showing its trying to download. However, if I right click on the document, I could download it and Adobe reader can open it. The problem occurs only if I am opeing the document from within Explorer. I have installed and uninstalled Reader, 6,7 and 8 no dice. I checked to make sure the options to open pdf within explore is checked in Adobe Reader and that the add-ons from Adobe are enabled. What else can I do. Please help. I have Vista 32 bit. |

Have you installed the latest version of the Adobe Reader, version 8.1?
Other than that, the best you can do is ask in the Adobe Reader support forums: http://www.adobe.com/support/products/acrreader.html -- Andre Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com My Vista Quickstart Guide: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!E8E5CC039D51E3DB!9709.entry <malamilia@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:1bb98464-23b2-41ee-b494-5e1fde3bd567@r60g2000hsc.googlegroups.com... >I have a problem with Internet Explorer and Adobe reader. Sometimes what happens when you open a pdf using adobe in IE is that the stupid Adobe "there's probably maybe a new upgrade or something can I go check huh can I can I?" window pops UNDER the browser window and waits for you to click yes or no. The browser looks hung but there's really a popup popped up UNDER it waiting for you. |

Another option is to go into Adobe Reader options and select when clicking on
a PDF link in IE to open the PDF in a new Adobe Reader window.
