I'm in need of an alternative to my current OS cloning software. Currently,
to restore my OS, I need the cloning software CD to boot from, then I insert my Vista CD to restore the OS. Is there any product on the market that combines the two DVDs so that to restore a system, just a single DVD is required rather then the two that I currently need? Thank you |

Carmen:
The other posts mentioning Acronis are both correct, depending on how you configure your system. All restore software is going to need to start the restore program, then access the data. Some software can burn the program onto the first CD/DVD, so that you can start the restore without swapping disks. Acronis has a feature where you can back up to a special hidden partition on your hard drive and also have a boot loader available, so when you boot your PC you can press "F11" to enter the Acronis software and then accesses the restore data from the hard drive using NO disks at all (or CDs/DVDs if you prefer). Since all restore software works like the one you have now and some restore software worksl ike you want it to, is there a reason other than preference for wanting to make the change? I ask because if there is a technical issue that needs resolved, it may be less work and cheaper than purchasing new software. ![]() "(( carmen ))" wrote: > I'm in need of an alternative to my current OS cloning software.
