I have now purchased a Vista Laptop which I am trying to get to access my printer on XP Desktop. From Vista Laptop i can Ping Wireless Router and XP desktop, can access internet, but stil cannot see my printer. I cannot ping from XP desktop to Vista Laptop Though?? Both are set up with File and Printer Sharing. Both have same workgroup names. Does anybody have any ideas how I can get access to printer?? ANy help would be much appreciated. |

If you cannot ping the Vista laptop, you probably have a personal firewall problem. <http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/your-personal-firewall-can-either-help.html> http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/...ither-help.html Though there are a few other issues unique to Windows Vista, that could be relevant. <http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2006/12/windows-xp-and-vista-on-lan-together.html> http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2006/...n-together.html -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP 2005-2007 [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
