Default Kill Backup?

Anyone know how to get rid of Windows OneCare Backup files? I gave it a
trial run, decided on another backup program, and now can't delete the
OneCare files from my removable HD. Tried booting in Safe Mode - no joy. It
tells me I don't have permission to delete the directories and files. Any
assistance appreciated!
