DRIVER FIRMWARE UPDATE

Dear Sir,

I'm have a few of issue in system, and i want to know few of things
from your side. i'm have a one dvd writer and i heard about the drive
"FIRM WARE UPDATE". I want to know what's it's use. and how it's work.
My dvd drive is not reading any bootable disk, if i can update the
FIRMWARE, then it can work or not?
I have a 3 querry only:
(a) What is firm ware update for dvd/ cd drive?
(b) How it's work ?
(c) What's it's use if i can update the optical drive Firmware ?

contact the manufacturer of your drive to see if they have an update availabel that may help.

Firmware is software stored on non volatile memory inside the drive that
makes it work. All your questions need to be directed to the drive mfg, we
cannot answer them, but if the drive isn't working, and an update is
available, what do you have to loose?
