Default Windows Crashes when left Idle

I had left my system idle for 20 mins or so (Windows Vista Ultimate) and it
was on battery support (80 %). When I come back after 20 mins, I see a blue
screen reporting a crash. I had to turn off the machine and restart it again
to get it working. Although not very frequent, but it keeps on happening
every 2 weeks or so. Sometimes it happens when I try to hibernate as well.

Default Re: Windows Crashes when left Idle

most often than not, hibernate issues are because of bad/outdated display
drivers. One suggestion would be to visit the device manufacturer's site and
download the latest display drivers and see if the problem goes away. Also
check to see laptop's manufacturer's site for possible BIOS updates.

Please post more information (based on the crash) if the problem persists.
