Make a copy of your stuff BEFORE (re)partitioning. Anyway, someone will probably suggest you do some sort of repair with your Windows Vista DVD disc. It will probably work if you have not gone too far. Saucy |

Has ANYONE found the solution to the missing bootmgr.exe problem? Dell tells
me that i'm going to have to completely reinstall everything. There must be a better way. When I hit control, alt, delted, I click on the hard drive (NOT the CD drive) and it boots right up. Why can it boot from the hard drive then if the bootmgr.exe is missing? Someone HELP!!!! Check your boot priority in the BIOS. Make sure the hd you click on is the
first. "Diana" <Diana@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:5D42EB54-7C35-4733-B640-31CFDCC60BA6@microsoft.com... > Has ANYONE found the solution to the missing bootmgr.exe problem? Your MBR is pointing to a partition with no boot record on it during normal
boot, but when you select the correct partition with the record on it you have no problem. One possibility is the drive you click on is not flagged 'active' which you can check in Disk Management. If you have a restore partition you need to get to, you won't want to use the Vista MBR, so you are probably going to have to either use your current procedure or take Dell's advice.
