Go with AVG.

If you want to pay for a better AV, then use NOD32.

They have two versions now. An all in one security suite
and anti-virus/trojan/spyware version. I use the AV version.

I use the Windows Firewall in conjunction with Sphinx Vista
Firewall Control, which gives you application control. The
free version Sphinx offers is really all you need. It works with
Vista's firewall. http://www.sphinx-soft.com/Vista/

Comodo BOClean also works well with Vista and plays nice
with NOD32. It's an effective spyware/trojan/malware killer.
It doesn't have on-demand scanning, but it sits and monitors
in real-time.

Comodo also offers a free AV and firewall. I have not used their
AV. I do not like their newest firewall, it doesn't play nice with NOD32.

I do not like OneCare.
