Default Help!

New system with Vista. Broadband arrived yesterday - whoopee .

Downloaded WCG and got everything going. Went to bed and left everything on but switched off monitor. Awoke this AM to find BOINC had swithed itself off despite me setting the system to "run always" and "network activity always available"

Does Vista have some sort of sleep mode when not in use and,if so, is there a way of changing it?

Any help will be appreciated.

Sorry I know very little about Vista - I avoid it like the plague - Mucks will probably have an idea

Pikakilla 2 Million Points and a +1 in the Stats too!!
Jolly well done!!

Niv - I have less trouble crunching with Vista and adsl, than I do with XP oddly enough. However, I would recommend that you read this article by Mucks, which explains the vagaries of Vista's "sleep" modes etc. Here
Glad you have your new PC - you will soon be sorted, I'm sure

Thanks for that link TC - it was just what I needed, although I had managed to work out the first part of it myself. It was all the fiddly little bits later on that would have completely stumped me so a VERY BIG THANKS to Mucks too for a very simple to follow article.

Also many congrats to PK on reaching your milestone.
