Multiple disks for AVG Rescue

I'm using AVG Free, latest version, regularly updated, with WinMe. The
number of floppy disks needed to create Rescue Disks has steadily
grown since I first started using AVG several years ago, from four to
18 (!!!!!) as of yesterday (Nov. 23). Quite a time-consuming and
annoying chore to update them now. I have never had to use the Rescue
Disk feature and wonder if anyone has actually used it. Are all those
floppies really needed
