Default Have to close and reopen the mail program to send emails?

When I have created an email I have to close the Windows mail program and
reopen it before the mail is sent.

Why doesn´t the program send the mail immediately?

Click on Tools, then Options, then Send. If there's no check mark in
the box before Send messages immediately, click on this box and then
Apply. Click on OK.
