New Vista computer. Does Windows work with Norton?
I paid for Norton and it works great. I also 'signed up' for Windows Security but it tells me my computer is not protected. Windows gives me the big red X from Windows firewall and Malware protection. Window and Norton don't seem to work together. Grrr. Should I get rid of Windows Security? If so, how in the world do I get rid of it? Thanks |

Norton 360, Norton AV and NIS are all certified for Vista: https://winqual.microsoft.com/membe...tifiedlist.aspx > I paid for Norton and it works great. What do you mean by Windows Security, and where did you sign up for it? > Windows gives me the big red X from Windows firewall and Malware > protection. > > Window and Norton don't seem to work together. Grrr. It's not recommended to run two firewalls and/or two anti-virus programs at the same time, they may conflict with each other and cause connection problems, even chrashes. > Should I get rid of Windows Security? Have you updated your Norton Antivirus Definitions? Have you also updated
the Antivirus utility itself? -- Andre Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com My Vista Quickstart Guide: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!E8E5CC039D51E3DB!9709.entry "Janey" <Janey@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:95D09ACB-EB4D-4C08-BF07-6CB93676CD5E@microsoft.com... > New Vista computer. I believe the culprit is Vista. Try 'exiting' Norton and re-starting. If the 'X' shield disappears, then you have hit the same Vista bug as I. (No comment about your choice of Norton.) |
