My raid mirror setup on my rig somehow failed, and now i have 2 seperate
drives. My primary drive has vista home premium (works ok), and now my 2nd drive is like a backup or spare. i can access the data ok. My question is rather than having the 2nd drive as a spare, i was thinking about putting XP on it - a dual boot would be great i figure. Is this possible on a rig that has had Vista on it for the last 6 months? My mobo is a Asus Striker Extreme - but i cant see anything in the bios that has anything to do with dual boot. Can i reformat the spare drive and load XP on it and is there a way during boot to select which drive to boot off of? please help! thanx |

My take is to disconnect the Vista drive, install XP and whatever onto what
is presently the second drive, and use BIOS to boot to either one. Go into the bios every time, make changes, save and exit, reboot just to run the other os. |

Have a look at the above link Just make sure that there are XP drivers available from your mobo's manufacturer's website for your mobo!
