Dear all,
I hope this is the right forum to help with my Vista (ultimate) problem. All appears to be running fine but every 20 seconds my AVG displays a Pop-Up message that says: "AutoPOP3: Connecting to dsl-244-69-136.telkomadsl.co.za" This has only started happening today. I only use the "Windows Mail" program which is currently closed. Full AVG Virus Scan, Windows Defender Scan & Spyware Terminator Scan reveal nothing. There must be a small program somewhere which is trying to dial out/phone home every 20 Secs - I think the firewall is preventing it but where do I start to look in Vista to terminate this little beast? Regards, Debi :-) |

That is AVG's email scanner trying to scan outgoing mail. If this is
happening every 20 seconds and you do not have an email program open it is likely you have been hijacked and a spammer is using your computer. Here is a very good link on removing malware. http://www.elephantboycomputers.com...emoving_Malware You could also try this forum. http://www.aumha.net/ -- Kerry Brown Microsoft MVP - Shell/User http://www.vistahelp.ca "Debi" <Debi@home.com> wrote in message news:IeGdnTSeXrG9h4fanZ2dnUVZ8qqlnZ2d@pipex.net... > Dear all, > > I hope this is the right forum to help with my Vista (ultimate) problem. > > All appears to be running fine but every 20 seconds my AVG displays a > Pop-Up message that says: > > "AutoPOP3: Connecting to dsl-244-69-136.telkomadsl.co.za" > > This has only started happening today.
