FOR THE LAST TIME: there are some vista updates that WILL auto reboot
your PC!! I went more than 3-5 months before i notice it happen ( today). Dont keep trying to tell me it doesnt happen--IT JUST HAPPENED TODAY, while i was as the PC. Once i saw an icon on the taskbar, i clicked it and saw a timer count down..it was at 2 seconds and then it shut down windows. No, am not hallucinating. I don't see little green men. thanks again for the great computing experience, MS. |

I do remember seeing someone complain of this issue a while back, on this NG. There are a few naysayers that insist Vista wont do that, which is why i created this thread. We know better now, don't we!! thanks for post.Dave |

Who's being the stubborn jerk here? Did he say that you are not experiencing the symptoms that you say you are? NO. He was simply stating the way HIS machines behave. HIS experience. You are being the jerk here, calling HIS observations BS. As for MY observations, I have never experienced this behavior in the 8-9 months I've been using Vista. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I'm just saying that I haven't observed it happening. I have my updates set to install at 3 am. If the machine is asleep, it will wake up long enough to install them. It may reboot (most likely it does), but I am not normally awake to see, so I don't know. I HAVE seen instances where updates were downloaded, but not installed, and a little window popped up telling me that the machine needed to be rebooted, however it gave me the option to restart later. So, I really don't know what is causing the behavior that you describe, but just realize that for every other person that's observing that same problem, there is at least one other person that HASN'T encountered it. |

You can't be anything but some clueless asshole that refuses to admit he's wrong even when the facts are staring him in the face, as I've proved several times already with your rant on Jupiter's core that you still refuse to admit you got totally wrong. You're such a moron you didn't even bother to read the web page that you offered as proof of your opinion. You're such a damn dummy you didn't even see YOUR cite was 180 degrees opposite to what you claimed. You got to be a special kind of stupid to be that dumb, but pal, you are that dumb. What really gets the underwear of the fanboy crowd all bunched up is they know damn well there are many people that use their computers in far more advanced ways then fanboy flunkies could even dream was possible. So OF COURSE, more advanced users will tend to run into more idiosyncrasies that Vista displays under such conditions then some idiot fanboy that thinks he's a big shot computer expert when all uses his computer for is surfing the web, reading email or acting like a damn fool in newsgroups. Hear me laughing at you? You're just an idiot like Frank is. |
