sick of "need permission"

Default sick of "need permission"


As far as I know I'm the administrator, sole user of this pc.. and too many
times when I try to delete something I get denied... this needs to stop..
How can I fix this

Hi Joel. Just went through this myself. You may be the administrator,
but you are not THE ADMINISTRATOR. There is a hidden Administrator
account in Vista tat you may need to access to remove or change certain
items. To access it, use the following directions:

1) Open the command prompt with Administrative privileges by opening the
Start Menu, typing cmd in the search box. Then press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER to
open cmd with admin rights.

2) Type the following in the command prompt and then press Enter:

net user administrator /active:yes

You must type it in just as it appears above.

3) Restart the computer and then log in as Administrator.

When you are finished, you'll need to disable this account. Do this by
rebooting the computer and going into your regular account. Follow the
instructions in #1, and then type the following, just as it appears below:

net user administrator /active:no
