So I installed the 64bit version and it see's the full 4gb. Though if you have a 64bit CPU then its worth considering. Though some programmes can be a bit funny about 64bit version. GEO |

For best chance of compatibility with anything you have now or may buy in
the near future, 32bit is the way to go.. Only run 64bit if you need to run 64bit apps for the memory advantage that 64bit affords.. I run 64 bit. It has better security -- eg, DEP, signed drivers, and random
location of base page; plus, malware itself is generally 32 bit and won't necessarily run correctly in a 64 bit environment. I run Windows XP Pro in Virtual PC 2007 when there are compatiblity issues. The VM machine needs 512 MB and Vista needs 2 GB. The VM needs to be on a separate drive. I haven't had any problems; and I am quite pleased. How much memory do you have? If you have more than 2 gb, and a 64 bit
processor, you might want to consider the 64 bit version. If you have a 32 bit processor, you are stuck with the 32 bit version. -- Robert Firth http://www.winvistainfo.org "Tony G" <t.gaskas@gmail.com> wrote in message news:1189951632.923693.241510@19g2000hsx.googlegroups.com... > Hi All > > Am interested in getting a new OS and was wonder which is better, a > 32bit or 64 bit version of Vista? > > Why get one over the other...? > > Thanks > Tony > |
