Unlocker on Vista

Hi,

One of my favorite freeware apps is Unlocker. It's a simple solution to a
very annoying problem: Getting rid of files Windows won't let you delete
for one reason or the other.

I have installed it on Vista and it works...sorta. What doesn't work is
having it pop up automatically when a files are locked like it does on XP.
I have completely gotten rid of UAC (which was driving me nuts!) so I do
not understand why it won't work. Ideas anyone?

Did you read this?

- How to make Unlocker work on Windows Vista? You need to deactivate UAC
globally for the whole system or locally just for Unlocker. Globally, go
to "Control Panel" then "User Accounts" then again "User Accounts" then
"Turn User Account Control" and set it to Off, then restart your
computer. Locally go to the Unlocker install directory (usually
C:/Program Files/Unlocker), right-click Unlocker.exe, select Properties,
and on the "Compatibility" tab, under "Priviledge Level" enable "Run
this program as administrator". Click "allow" everytime you will get the
UAC prompt to ask if you want to run Unlocker. Thanks to Mike Cerminara
for his help.

I did read the above, but Unlocker still isn't popping up like it did on
XP when a file is locked. I have to manually use it. Not that it's a big
issue, it was just very convenient the way it worked on XP.

You'll have to live with this problem until a new Vista-version of
Unlocker has been developed. Vista has handles filesecurity completely
different.

Never mind adam...as he's a mentally crippled, failed backroom
accountant trying unsuccessfully to cook the books and afraid to accept
his own incompetence so he blames everyone else for his short falls.
Thus the first words out of his big mouth usually are something along
the lines of "Oh I see. You admit you're an idiot then".

I've never used Unlocker so my only advice would be to install it using
compatibility mode (XP SP2).

What the little monkey Frank is trying to say is he's jealous I had a
very highly respected job with a major Welfare and Pension Trust Fund
of the worlds biggest labor organization, AFL-CIO and I got such a
high salary I was able to retire in my early 40's... twenty years ago.
I then started my second and then my third career. Frankie can't stand
the fact I forgot more then a babbling little idiot like him will ever
know.

What adam, the drunken fool is really saying is that he got fired from a
small company for cooking the books. He's been unemployed and
unemployable ever since. He can't figure out how to properly run or
configure his one little install of Vista business so he constantly
blames everyone else, including MS, for his stupidity and total lack of
computer knowledge.
He also hates the fact that I'm taller, have all my own hair (he's fat
and bald!) that I am much better looking and have made tons more money
than he ever did or could.
