A friend of mine is trying to publish a new commercial web site of which he
is the author, etc... He is using Frontpage 2003. Everything seems to publish just fine, but when he calls up the published web site, it says he is not authorized to view the page - one he created! I went to the site myself and it said the site requires me to login. What has he done wrong in the publishing and how can he fix it? I publish a couple of small web sites myself and have never run in to such a thing. Thanks for any help. Karen |

If you type a specific page in the address bar that you know is in the
website - can you view it? If so: Check with the host that the home page is named correctly. The home page must be named according to a list held in the server configuration. On a Windows server this list usually includes default.htm, default.asp, index.htm. On Unix servers the list is usually index.html, index.php - but in both cases other names/extensions may be used as well. If not: Check with the host that the web site is browsable by anonymous users. -- Ron Symonds - Microsoft MVP (FrontPage) Reply only to group - emails will be deleted unread. http://www.rxs-enterprises.org/fp FrontPage Support: http://www.frontpagemvps.com/ "Karen" <kwoolam@nocomcast.net> wrote in message news:#YLOupD7HHA.4612@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl: > A friend of mine is trying to publish a new commercial web site of which he > is the author, etc...
