It plays ok in Window media player, but > it won't play in the storyline ================================= Ok...the .mpg is imported into Movie Maker... drag it to the timeline and try saving it as a .wmv or .avi file. Then re-import the new file and see if it will play. To save as a .wmv movie file... Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard / Choose...My Computer / Next / Enter a Name and a Save Location / Next / Tick...'Best Quality For My Computer' Next/ Wait while the movie is saved / Finish... To save as an .avi movie file... (and several other options) Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard / Choose...My Computer / Next / Enter a Name and a Save Location / Next / Show More Choices / Other Settings / Open the drop window and choose...DV-AVI / Next / Wait while the movie is saved / Finish... Maybe you could convert it to a .wmv file with the following software. Microsoft Expression Media Encoder http://tinyurl.com/yru9f4 More info: Expression Media Encoder http://tinyurl.com/yur8b9 Even more info: Movie Maker 2 - Importing MPEG Files http://tinyurl.com/eajjh File type compatibility with Movie Maker http://tinyurl.com/v8tee -- John Inzer MS Picture It! - Digital Image MVP Digital Image Highlights and FAQs http://tinyurl.com/aczzp Notice This is not tech support I am a volunteer Solutions that work for me may not work for you Proceed at your own risk |

That's something I suspected when Wmenc would hang up on the 2nd pass.
Is there any way I can avoid the 2nd pass? Cheers-Herb. If it fails on one pass cbr or one pass vbr then it most likely the mpeg
file is corrupt. -- Graham Hughes MVP Digital Media www.myvideoproblems.com "herbzee" <her.ky@verizon.net> wrote in message news:nyFBi.10919$Eh5.8380@trndny06... > That's something I suspected when Wmenc would hang up on the 2nd pass. > Is there any way I can avoid the 2nd pass? > Cheers-Herb. > > John Inzer wrote: >> herbzee wrote: >>> To John Inzer, trying your sugg. below and find that when drag it to >>> the story line, it locks up MM and I have to "end task" ??????????? >> ============================================ >> Ok...the file must not be fully compatible >> with Movie Maker. >> >> Maybe you could convert it to a .wmv file >> with the following software. >> >> Microsoft Expression Media Encoder >> http://tinyurl.com/yru9f4 >> >> More info: >> >> Expression Media Encoder >> http://tinyurl.com/yur8b9 >> >> Even more info: >> >> Movie Maker 2 - Importing MPEG Files >> http://tinyurl.com/eajjh >> >> File type compatibility with Movie Maker >> http://tinyurl.com/v8tee >> |
