Are SATA drives faster than PATA drives? If so, why?
Thanks Jethro |

SATA drives are faster by a little bit, because they are newer technology
and were designed that way. DaveW "Jethro" <Wilson@somewhere.org> wrote in message news:9u39t2tjqron8ah3vcvtjivh99prilecec@4ax.com... > Are SATA drives faster than PATA drives? If so, why? > > Thanks > > Jethro |

The specific drive used is far more important and some only come in SATA, like WD Raptors. |

Marginally perhaps.. Yes SATA is a much faster bus, but if the drive can't supply data faster than 133MB/s anyway then it doesn't make much difference.. Chris |
