I've seen this issue on a number of computers, and with different drives and
different media... Many times I'll change the disc in my DVD drive and Windows won't show me any files on the drive for the new disc. Sometimes if I eject and remove the disc, then close and open the drive, and reload the disc, it works. Are drives just picky about the media they read, or is Windows just crappy at dealing with media changes? Any fixes? |

FYI, I just disabled Windows from writing to the drive and instead of showing no files, I get an "Incorrect function" error. |

If you have auto-insert notification disabled, which is a good idea, Windows can be a bit baffled about media changes. Hitting F5 (refresh) in the "My Computer" window, or in the actual drive's window can clear it up. |
