Default Audio Output Device Not Installed

At the beginning of this past week, my computer stated that the Audio Output
Device is not installed. It was a Realtek High Audio. I have tried to
reinstall the drivers, but everytime I do the installation fails because it
says it times out. I have tried to do a system restore, but that always fails
too. What do I do? Thanks

Default Re: Audio Output Device Not Installed

Have you tried Safe Mode?

Right clicking the Realtek driver file, and selecting "Run as Administrator'?

Did you delete the Realtek adapter in Device Manager ***check the box to delete
driver files***, and delete the Realtek drivers in Control Panel > Programs and
Features?

REBOOT

Install new drivers

Reboot

Do you have ver. 1.73?

Are you sure this is Realtek HD Audio and not Realtek AC'97?
