Hi
For some reasons, I'm not able to get Remote Assistance to work between my Vista Home Premium PC and a remote Vista Home Premium PC. I'm using Windows Live Messenger and click on File | Actions | Offer Remote Assistance. The remote PC accepts the offer and issues a 6-character password. My PC then pops up a window asking for the password; I type in the password, and a bigger window opens - trying to connect. After about 30 seconds, it says: "Remote Assistance cannot make the connection" I tried tweaking the router at the remote PC to set up port forwarding for 3389 (as I understand that is the requirement). I checked and double-checked, but it wouldn't work. Please let me know what else I can do. Thanks Steve |

You don't mention if your computers are behind firewalls, using proxies,
vpn, etc. -- qfreed "SP_1" wrote: > Hi > > For some reasons, I'm not able to get Remote Assistance to work between my > Vista Home Premium PC and a remote Vista Home Premium PC. > > I'm using Windows Live Messenger and click on File | Actions | Offer Remote > Assistance.
