Default Windows Photo Gallery

I just got a brand new laptop, and I have Windows Vista Home Premium
installed on it. Everytime I try to view images in photo gallery though, my
laptop slows down and eventually freezes. Sometimes it reloads and says that
a driver had failed and has recovered, yet when I go to view images, it does
the same thing all over.

I have had all of the internal hardware checked, and it is all working, so I
am wondering if there is a way to fix this problem without having Windows
Vista reinstalled. In came installed in my laptop.

If it's 'brand new' what's wrong with taking it back?

Yes, take it back to the shop and tell them to reload vista. (fresh
install... not reinstal)

How much ram does your laptop have?
