Windows Movie Maker is crap. I can't believe Microsoft would put this kind
of garbage out there. It keeps crashing..... again and again. |

Some users have reported problems after installing IE7. If this applies to your situation ...uninstalling IE7 may be worth a try. (927177) How to uninstall Internet Explorer 7 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927177/en-us I've also seen a report that disabling the ffdshow codec could be the fix. To accomplish this...open Movie Maker and go to...Tools / Options / Compatibility tab...Uncheck... ffdshow / OK. TW,
I understand some people have problems with MM but I have never had a problem with it when treating it the right way. What I mean by that is I never try to insert JPG or GIF images. It wasn't meant to handle them so I don't even try it anymore. I don't fool with codecs. I don't move my project files around. Etc... I also have not made big changes to my machine. I have tweaked my virtual memory a little and installed another harddrive and thats all. Since I have received my computer in the mail and started using MM it has never crashed, failed to load, or even called me any names. My co-worker, on the other hand, built his pc from scratch. He bought every single component seperately with twice the ram I have. He can play more resource intensive games as me and WORD documents open faster for him but he has had nothing but trouble with MM, firewall apps, and Outlook. He bought Nero later and can't get that to work either. There are a lot of smart people that monitor this forum so reply back with your exact problem and I'll bet they can, at least, point you in the right direction. Good luck. Your right it is crap. I gave up trying to copy to a DVD a tradeshow movie I spent hours putting to gether in MSMM. I used my daughters MAC and guess what. Worked first try, so easy even a PC user like me could do it. DOH! "TW" wrote: > Windows Movie Maker is crap. I can't believe Microsoft would put this kind > of garbage out there.
