Default Movie maker preview monitor

When I'm editing a movie file or clip the monitor is black. I can hear the
audio track.
What have I set incorrectly?

Maybe you need to update your video driver.
I had the same issue recently and reinstalling
my current video driver solved it.

And maybe the following info from Rehan
may be useful:

Audio but no Video...

It may be because the DV codec in your
system has gone astray...

Execute the following batch file to fix it:

This same thing happened to me after running the Windows Update on Vista. I
went to the ATI site (http://ati.amd.com) and installed the latest drivers
and the problem is fixed.
