Default Putting videos recorded on a DVD camcorder into Windows Movie Make

I downloaded some videos I recorded from a Sony DCR-DVD108 camcorder onto my
computer. When I try to import those files into Windows Movie Maker, they
only show up as audio clips, even though when I double-click them, they play
as movies in the movie box on the right. If I try dragging them to the
storyline, they only appear as audio files.

I've tried saving these files with different extensions (wmv, mpeg, etc.),
but they still don't work. Any ideas?
