T&L stands for transform and lighting. I believe Nvidia came up with the
technology but all graphics card manufacturers have there own implementation
of it. I am not sure exactly how new a card you would have to buy to get T&L
so check before buying second hand cards. I use nvidia but I don't wont to
get into a debate about what card is the best. What suits me might not suit
you and so on.
