How do I even download the program? The microsoft site says to do it through
windows update. I tried that without success and can't find the program
anywhere on my computer. Thanks in advance for your help.

If you are referring to Movie Maker...

Go to...Start / Run...type "moviemk.exe"
press...Enter. If Movie Maker is installed
on your system...it should launch.

Movie Maker version 2 can be downloaded
from the following site

MovieMaker 2.0
http://tinyurl.com/6vp4g

Movie Maker version 2.1 is installed as a
component of Window XP SP2.

Download Windows XP SP2
http://tinyurl.com/6ubys

Generally, users install from the net but this
site allows you to download the complete
file to your hard drive before installing.

It's good for a network administrator because
you can burn it on a CD and install it on as
many computers as you need to.

And it's good for a single machine because
if you ever need to install it again...you'll have
it available without waiting for a download.

What can I do if I upgrade to Windows
XP SP2 and Windows Movie Maker 2.1
is not installed successfully?

I have windows movie maker installed on my machine and have been using it
succesfully since Christmas. This week, every time I try to launch it I get
an error message telling me that movie maker has encountered a problem and
needs to close. I don't know what to do. I tried re-installing it from the
download in the link, but the same thing happens. I'm going crazy as I use
this program regularly. Heeeeellllpppp!
Thanks in anticipation.

Please begin a new thread when you
have a question.

You fail to mention your OS...if you are
running Vista...disregard the following.

Some users have reported problems
after installing IE7. If this applies to your
situation ...uninstalling IE7 may be worth
a try.
