Movie Maker Transitions

Is there a way in Movie Maker 6.0 for Windows Vista to slow down the
transitions? I have my pictures set for a duration and the most time allowed
for the transition duration is 5 seconds. Something is not right because
when my pictures are changing, believe me, they are not there for 10 seconds.
(When I use transitions) Also, can I download a version of Movie Maker that
is used in XP?
