Default Windows Live Mail-Differences?

Excuse the elementary question, but what's the difference/advantage of WLM
over Windows Mail? WM is working fine for me, but I'm thinking of trying LM.
Thanks

Think of WLM as WM + bug fixes + Hotmail access.
There are a few other basic differences. WLM works on both
Vista and XP. WLM sets up separate inboxes for each mail account.
WLM is receiving the benefit of ongoing Microsoft development
while WM is not. Microsoft reps participate in WLM's newsgroup.

There is no drawback to trying WLM. If you decide you don't like
it, you merely uninstall it, and WM is back.

Thanks Gary. I'll give it a try. The download link was posted on this foum
somewhere. If I download it, will it ask if I want it as my default mail
client?

WLM download link (for US/UK):
http://get.live.com/betas/maildesktop_betas

It won't ask. It makes itself the default mail client, but that is easily
changed if you don't like that.

In your opinion Gary, is it worth it to download? Like I said WM is working
fine now.
Thanks

If you have no problems with WM, and it does what you want,
stay with it. WM is more like OE than WLM is, so WLM has a
bit of a learning curve.

But, things change quickly in this business.
Three months from now, my advice may be different.

I have downloaded Windows Live Mail and it seems to be great, but I can't
delete newsgroup messages! The Delete option is dimmed. Any reason why?

I don't know, but Delete works for me. Try Ctrl-D.
However, one typically does not delete individual newsgroup messages.
I configure newsgroups to show unread messages only, so the next
time I come back to that newsgroup, I see only new messages.

If you want, you can have messages deleted automatically after
a certain amount of time: Tools, Options, Advanced, Maintenance,
check "Purge newsgroup messages in the background", and also
check one of the two sub-options.

Do you have a message(s) highlighted?
Are you using Edit, Delete or Ctrl-D ?
