Default Windows Mail Vs Outlook

I just purchased MS Office Enterprise 2007, which has Outlook 2007 included.
I thought Outlook was phased out?? If not, it possible to just use Outlook
and make that my default mail client? I'm really not impressed with WM. Any
little change to the system (spyware protection, etc.) makes it run slowly.

Outlook Express which was the free Windows client was replaced by Windows
Mail. Outlook is the MS Office e-mail client and yes you can use it as your
default client as opposed to Windows Mail.

Sure. Outlook 2007 should work just fine.
No, it's not phased out. Perhaps you were thinking of Outlook Express.
