how do i remove sound

First of all:
Can anyone tell me how to remove the sound in the background of a video and

if i have add music to my video how do i lower the music so that i can hear
the people in the background are saying.

In Timeline view...right click / mute...
the audio track.

In timeline view...right click the
audio/music track...choose Volume /
drag the slider.
