Slow typing and keystroke problems
I've just gotten a new comp with Windows Vista installed in it. Everything is
working fine except for this very annoying problem, and I wonder if Vista's to do with it since I never had such issues with Windows XP. Thing is, as I type, letters appear slower on the screen than the speed at which I am typing, and some letters fail to appear. I checked the drivers and they're all working fine, its just that I can't seem to type quickly and I've to backtrack and re-edit my sentences over and over due to the skipped letters. It's a 2 gig RAM the computer is running on, so I don't think its lack of memory. And sadly, there's no function to 'increase keyboard sensitivity' or anything like that... Is anyone out there having the same problem, and can someone suggest the root problem and a solution to this please? It's driving me nuts! Thanks... |

Check and update your drivers, especially video.
Temporarily try turning Aero OFF. Practically every program... hotmail, MS Word etc etc...

Just out of curiosity, click to see if your system is idling properly:
1.) Close all programs. 2.) Press Ctrl+Alt+Del. 3.) Click "Start Task Manager." 4.) Click the Performance tab. The CPU usage (in the upper left corner) shouldn't be over about 10%, if everything is closed. The memory bars probably shouldn't be over 600 MB, either. If your cpu usage is normal, (Vista does a lot of indexing when it is new),
you can go into control panel/hardware/keyboard and see if changing the settings helps. What is your computer setup. Okay CPU usage jumps and ranges from bet 6% to 2%... and memory usage is 730 MB! Does this confirm that Vista is the culprit for the high memory usage?
