Default Auto-format/fill setting that forces any cell input to be a Formul


Does anyone know of an auto-format, auto-fill setting in Excel that would
force any input into a cell to become a formula? For example, we're trying
to enter dates into a worksheet, but everywhere we try to input a date, say,
5/21/07, the cell value is being forced into =5/21/7. I've searched
everywhere, but can't find out what ghost is causing this!

Note: No macros/VBA are attached to this sheet.

Tools > Options > Transition and clear the Transition formula entry box
