Into installing Vista on various Pc's and seeing quite a few strange things:
- New Hp Pc with Vista installed working great and then going through hell to sort out all the driver problems, seems one of the latest Vista upgrades messes things up and takes time and hard work to figure what and where things are wrong - Year old Laptop with Xp but Vista Ready. Did a low level format and installed Vista Home Premium (NOT UPGRADE!) and only hassle I have is Orbicam not working but the rest of it all works great and mush faster then Xp. Trying all that Vista has to offer and everything works fine, same with printers and plotters, scanners and the rest of it all. Difficult to place where the shortcomings are but it's best to check if your Pc's/Laptop is really Vista compatible and if not where you may/will have problems. Most of the problems have to do with graphics and that sot of means everything you see on your desktop ecc. Andy |

As far as the updates issue, I have never ran into one, so far, in over 12
years, but there's always a chance. I *always* restart after updates, whether required or not, before doing anything else. I also never use sleep/hibernate modes. I keep the drive on and only use power settings for the monitor. However, I have never used a notebook or laptop. Batteries and portability make a difference. One mistake that you have made:
Look for Vista READY, not Vista COMPATIBLE.
