Default MS Office Alternative ... and its FREE

OpenOffice It's free, open-source, Office-compatible and cross-platform (Windows, Linux and Solaris, with a Mac OS X version in early development).

You will need a cable modem to download or a lot of endurance but CD’s are available.

Enjoy!

I've used it in the past to see what all the fuss was about. It's not as easy to use as its Microsoft counterpart but you can't complain if something's free!

I'd prefer MS Office anyday but it's a good alternative for people who don't want to spend hundreds on the software.

I've been using it for a good few months. It lacked a few little things like selective word counts, so i just coded them in myself.

A great application no doubt, I am using both MS Office XP as well as OpenOffice, you just cannot complain for such an extensive program which is absolutely free. What I also liked was the facility to covert docs to pdf format.

It's a really cool app, imo. How much is it? Nowt. How much is MS bloatware? Lots.

If it wasn't for the fact I needed 100% compatibility with customer's documents, I'd use it all the time.

But, must admit, MS Office does have the edge on it, but there again, for the money, so it should do
