help :cant receive emails

Hello,
Setting up my new computer with Vista
Set up my "Windows mail" and my current provider is AOL.
I used pop.aol.com for the incoming and smtp.aol.com for the outgoing.
I can send email now using "windows mail" but I cannot receive. When I click
on send/receive it hangs there and then gives error:

"Connection to server failed. Acct POP3 Server.
Error #0x800CCC0E"

My AOL email still works as usual

AOL uses IMAP rather than POP3. Set up your
account using these instructions:
http://postmaster.info.aol.com/imap/express.html

OK I set it up as instructed by now get a failure message when downloading
folders that reads:

"Connection to server failed
Server-imap.aol.com
Protocol-imap
Port-587
SSL-0
Code-800ccc0e"

You are supposed to use port 587 for the _outgoing_ mail server, only.
Go to the Advanced tab in the account's properties and change the port
for the outgoing server to 587 and the incoming server to 143. HTH
