Been using the WM that came with Vista for a few weeks, basically without
any major issues. Just downloaded WLM beta and tried to import my contacts from the old WM contacts folder. Seems to go OK, but out of a total of 85 contacts it imports 49 and stops, announcing cheerfully that it imported them OK. Tried several times with the same result. Also, how do I add an image to a contact record? The place for it is there, but I can't see how to add it. Thanks. -- Peter in New Zealand. (Pull the plug out to reply.) Not sure why your contacts didn't import - but contacts set their own image,
not you... :-) "Peter in New Zealand" <peterbalplug@xtra.co.nz> wrote in message news:OLBI8f9qHHA.1208@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > Been using the WM that came with Vista for a few weeks, basically without > any major issues. Ah ha! Now I'm starting to see how WLM is really intended to ease people
into on line web based services. Well, not this fella. Thanks for helping to clarify that for me. In a rural area with a sometimes flakey connection I just can't afford to stuff around with email that requires me to be able to connect every time. You only need to connect when you want to send or recieve. WLM beta is a
desktop product that syncs with online mail services like Live Hotmail "Peter in New Zealand" <peterbalplug@xtra.co.nz> wrote in message news:eBKkGmGrHHA.4300@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... > Ah ha! Until it all settles down and one seems to come out on top and becomes the defacto standard I'll go with Thunderbird. Thank you for your comments - they have been of value to me and assisted me to reach a decision. -- Peter in New Zealand. (Pull the plug out to reply.)
