Default Can't get started / sync

I'm trying to set up this account, but I continue to get this message when I
attempt to sync w/ Yahoo: Account: 'Yahoo', Server: 'pop.mail.yahoo.com',
Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR popgate unknown command', Port: 110,
Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18.
I went onto Yahoo and was looking for solutions and I was curious if I have
to purchase the "Yahoo mail upgrade" for it to allow me to use the POP3? Is
there something in this error message that tells the story?

You're leaving out some critical details.
Who is your ISP? Are they partnered with Yahoo?
Is your Yahoo account a free one?
Did you have POP access to your Yahoo account before getting
a Vista computer?

My ISP is frontiernet.net, and I,m not sure if they're partnered w/ Yahoo.
I'll look into that. And yes, the account is the free one from Yahoo. I'm not
sure about the pop access because I never tried to use it. I do have another
address I could use from my school: leketner@lancastergeneral.org, this
account is through microsoft office outlook web access. Thanks for your help!

Only the big ISPs (like Verizon, AT&T, etc.) are partnered
with Yahoo. So it is safe to assume that your Yahoo mailbox
has only web access. Windows Mail does not handle web mail.

Your ISP should have given you a frontiernet.net POP email
address. They have instructions here:
