When logged into a Vista Ultimate box, admin equivalent, I wanted to
release and renew my IP address. It nagged about it wanted a user rights elevation. How to do it at a command prompt? Jules |

Hi Jules--
There is also a way to elevate using a power tool setup as well as a keyboard combo. Steven Bink has made a tool to deal with UAC's continual prompts to elevate to run as admin that are very much like the PC Guy Apple Guy commercials that lol Gates and Jobs discussed the other night for the first time in years they held a public discussion although they have had phone conversations in the past few years: Script Elevation Power Toys by Steve Bink http://bink.nu/Article10165.bink Download Site for Vista Script Elevation Power Toys http://technetmagazine .com/code07.aspx Also a shortcut for running elevated from Kristan Kenny: http://www.windows-now.com/blogs/km...n-elevated.aspx *An easier way to run elevated* If you are using Windows Vista with User Account Control enabled and you frequently run applications as administrator (or run elevated), this tip will surely come in handy. Click on the Start button. In the "Start Search" box, type the name of the application you wish to run elevated - for example: "cmd.exe", "Notepad", or "Windows Mail". Hold CTRL+SHIFT on your keyboard and then press Enter. You will then receive a User Account Control prompt asking you whether or not you want to run the application. Enjoy.
