Default Help with lost account

I just did a reinstall/(upgrade) of windows Vista Business and now I no
longer have access to my account
The account was a (real) administrator account (net user Administrator
/active:yes) Renamed to "John". All of the stuff is there under users
but I can not gain access to it (access denied). The net "user
Administrator /active:yes" command no longer works; the error comes back
as account not found.

Does anyone have any idea how to get that admin account back as well as
how to make "john" an active account again?

Did you change the name of the Built-in admin account?

Start cmd.exe with admin privileges and type:

net user (press Enter)

This should show all of the accounts that are registered on the system. If
you see John and not an account named Administrator you may need to type:

net user Administrator /active:yes

To enable the John account.

Sorry, that command should have been:

net user John /active:yes
